EXO-K’S D.O. MODELS WITH PERFUME FOR LATEST EDITION OF SM MAGAZINE “THE CELEBRITY”

Joining the recent stream of actresses and idols participating in pictorials, EXO-K’s main vocalist D.O. has participated in the latest photo shoot for “The Celebrity.” He takes on a modern, yet simple approach to the fall season – with the help of perfume bottles.

The pictorial includes both a tightly framed close-up shot of D.O.’s face, and a wider shot which shows a bit of the clean environment. D.O. handsomely stares at the camera while sampling various perfumes; next, he can be seen inspecting a tray lined with amber-colored bottles.

Shinhwa Teaches EXO How to Excel in Variety Shows

The members of EXO are known for their powerful performances on stage, but for this episode of  Mnet‘s “EXO 90:2014“, the popular boy group expressed their shortcomings when it comes to variety shows, saying that they found variety shows very hard to do.
Veteran group Shinhwa, who were represented on this episode by Lee Minwoo and Shin Hyesung, gave advice to their juniors and said, “When you do it for the first time, of course it will be really hard. Now, embarrassing pictures don’t bother us anymore. Don’t be afraid to have that kind of history.”
In addition to this piece of advice, the Shinhwa members also taught EXO three sets of crucial variety techniques that will be shown on today’s (August 29) episode of “EXO 90:2014″ at 10 p.m. on Mnet. Also revealed on the episode will be Sehun’s cover of one of Shinhwa’s songs.

EXO Gets Shocked At the Sight of Shinhwa’s Almost Nude Bodies

Aside from teaching EXO how to excel in variety shows,Shinhwa members Lee Minwoo and Shin Hyesung gave their juniors more information on how idols were before.
On the August 29 episode of Mnet‘s “EXO 90:2014,” EXO got to see one of Shinhwa’s “bolder” moves to show their growth and appeal as a group: a semi-nude photobook that they released in 2001, three years after they made their debut as a group.
Upon seeing some photos in the book, members of EXO weren’t able to show their astonishment especially at the photos wherein some Shinhwa members showed their behinds. MC Jeon Hyun Moo tried to reduce the awkwardness in the studio and said, “This is fun. Let’s continue with the broadcast while showing this for an hour,” making everyone laugh.
Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo explained, “At that time, we were young and we thought, ‘if not now, when else can we shoot this?,’ so we proceeded with doing it.”

Shinhwa’s Minwoo is right. There’s a perfect time for everything. Wonder when EXO’s turn will be?

Amytal “Truth Serum” to Play a Key Role in the Unveiling of Secrets in “It’s Okay It’s Love”

Recently, the spotlight has been placed on the drug “Amytal” since its introduction in SBS drama “It’s Okay It’s Love.” The drama not only depicts the romance between celebrity author Jang Jae Yeol (Jo In Sung) and clinical psychologist Ji Hae Soo (Gong Hyo Jin), but it also shows the different episodes that fellow psychologist and housemate Jo Dong Min (Sung Dong Il) and Hae Soo’s experience with their patients.

In the drama, “amytal sodium” is first introduced in the process of Dong Min’s treatment of Jang Jae Bum (Yang Ik Joon), who is Jae Yeol’s older brother as well as a murder convict. Jae Bum’s first reaction to hearing about this drug is to use it on his mother (Cha Hwa Yeon) and his brother to reveal that they had indeed conspired in order to get rid of him by framing him for his stepfather’s murder.
In the captions describing this drug, the drama team defined “amytal sodium” as a barbiturate derivative that has sedative properties, and an “amytal interview” as a “procedure in which the patient is interviewed while amytal is gradually given intravenously, placing the patient into a state of relaxation and hypnosis.”
Amytal was first introduced in the 1920s in an OBGYN hospital in the US as a “truth serum.” Later it was used in courts in order to prove the innocence of indicted suspects. After World War II it was also used to treat soldiers who were experiencing psychological trauma.
In “It’s Okay It’s Love,” amytal is gradually gaining a deeper presence in the story. Consequently, viewers raided portal sites with the search for “amytal” and what it does. There are even blog posts explaining the effects of amytal and relating it to the story.
The production team revealed, “We are introducing amytal as an important factor into the story, where the characters are a psychologist and a character that needs psychological help. Please stay tuned to see how this drug acts as a key to the revelation of the characters’ secrets.”
Meanwhile, in the eleventh episode set to air August 27, there was the introduction of a third party aside from Jae Yeol and Jae Bum that was involved in the murder of their stepfather.
Anyone plan on tuning in? Did anyone actually research amytal on their own as well?

Fans Pick the Best 5 Lines from “It’s Okay, It’s Love”

Warning: Mild spoilers ahead!
SBS drama “It’s Okay, It’s Love” is gaining popularity through writer Noh Hee Kyung’s unique ability to draw out the special yet warm relationships between characters. There are many lines that moved viewers emotionally. Just a little more than halfway through with 10 episodes, fans picked the five best lines from the drama, according to TVReport.

Episode 3 – “Who says a diligent and nice person doesn’t hurt their children? Even my angelic mother hurts me sometimes.”
Ji Hae Soo (played by Gong Hyo Jin), is a firm believer that a loving mother with a good heart doesn’t have the ability to hurt someone. But Jang Jae Yeol (played by Jo In Sung) tells her differently. His thoughts that the closest people can hurt you the most makes viewers think back on our lives and our surroundings.
Episode 5 – “It can bring you pain and resentment and distress and sadness and despair and misfortune. But it can also bring you the strength to endure all of those things. Then you can call it love.”
Hae Soo views love as something that brings only bliss and happiness and thrill. When asked what he thought about that, Jae Yeol replies with an unexpected answer. According to him, loving someone can’t always be a sweet and happy experience, but you can heal each other’s wounds through love. Many viewers agreed with his thoughts and gained strength for their own relationships. This also showed their relationship’s distinction from other relationships that have been portrayed in the past, and also expressed writer Noh Hee Kyung’s detailed emotions about love.
Episode 5 – “Come on out, let’s go.”
Hae Soo finds Jae Yeol sleeping in the bathroom (he has a childhood trauma that forces him to do so). These were her first words that she said nonchalantly as she woke him up. This short but strong line gave not only Jae Yeol but also the viewers a huge relief and realization towards Hae Soo. Jae Yeol feels comfort and warmth in Hae Soo’s behavior when she treated him no differently than she had before. Her words gave realization to the viewers (and to Jae Yeol himself) that he was “different,” not “wrong.” This distinction that had been made left a deep impression on the viewers.
Episode 6 – “I mean that our past scars hold us back, just as we remember old scars that had already past.”
Jae Yeol makes us as viewers think back on ourselves. Everyone strives for happiness but no one cares or pays attention to the individual hearts that have the keys to that happiness. In the complicated and busy society we live in, there’s not a person that doesn’t possess a personal wound. We say it’s okay when it’s really not okay, and viewers could tell that this line was a message from Noh Hee Kyung, telling us to look back into our neglected hearts and see what’s inside.
Episode 9 – “It’s everyone’s first time in this life, so it’s inevitable that we aren’t perfect, and that’s why we are pitiable, and that’s why we can make some mistakes…”
These were the words of Young Jin (played by Jin Kyung) when Hae Soo—who loathed her mother due to her past trauma with her mother’s unfaithfulness towards her father—revealed that, after loving Jae Yeol, she began to understand her mother’s loneliness. Her words consoled those who were living constantly trapped in our self-expectations as well as expectations of others. It gave strength, encouraging those to get endure past mistakes and move on.
Meanwhile, the drama has already reached its first climax as Hae Soo and Jae Yeol get deeper into their relationship. But a dark plot twist has been foreshadowed as secrets of Jae Yeol’s past are being revealed one by one. “It’s Okay, It’s Love” also stars Sung Dong Il, Lee Kwang Soo, and EXO’s D.O. It airs every Wednesdays and Thursdays on SBS. With six more episodes to go what do you think will happen?
What are some of your favorite lines from the drama?
