EXO’s Staff Scrutinized for Their Behavior in China, SM Announces that Conflict was Resolved

EXO‘s bodyguard and staff member are under criticism for their behavior at the Nanjing airport.
EXO flew to Nanjing on August 16 to perform at the “Samsung Galaxy Nanjing Music Festival.” Currently, the 2014 Youth Olympics are taking place in Nanjing, which has resulted in heightened security at the airport.
The Chinese media reported that on August 16 EXO’s staff refused to have their luggage checked by the security guards at the airport, resulting in some arguments. Another crisis arose outside the gates, when EXO’s bodyguard proceeded to hit a fan’s camera off her hands. According to other fan accounts, he also hit a Youth Olympic volunteer who happened to be close by.
EXO’s agency SM Entertainment issued a statement saying that “the truth is different from what was reported in the Chinese media,” adding, “in the process of leaving the hectic crowd at the airport, there was some conflict between the hired bodyguards and the airport staff due to security reasons. But they were not EXO’s managers.” SM also announced that they ended on good terms with the airport staff that day.
China’s media outlet CCTV reported that the seven bodyguards have acknowledged their wrongdoings.
